Freehand Formula Entry System

The Freehand Formula Entry System is a pen-based equation editor, developed jointly between researchers at Queen's University and researchers in New Zealand and the United States. FFES interprets while the user draws, producing LaTeX and operator tree output, which we hope to translate to computer algebra system languages (e.g. Maple, Mathematica) in the future. User feedback is given as (1) a bitmap and (2) fonts drawn behind recognized symbols (see image to left). Click on the screen shot to the left to download or find out more about FFES.
