Meeting Location
The conference will be held at Walter Light Hall.
The location of Walter Light Hall
is shown on the above Queen's University campus
map - it is the building marked "23" near the top right corner.
The conference presentations (with the exception
of the NSERC workshop) take place in room Walter Light 205.
The NSERC workshop (July 23, 1:15 - 2:30 PM) takes place in the
Biosciences Complex, room BIO1102.

Paper Presentations
The conference room has an overhead projector for transparencies
and a data projector for computers. We will provide a Windows based
laptop with Powerpoint and a PDF viewer if you want to bring
your talk on a CD.
If you plan to demonstrate some software during your presentation,
it is recommended that you bring your own laptop.
Instructions for Poster Papers
Each poster paper will be provided a poster board that
is 6 feet wide and 6 feet high. The "useful"
height is less (maybe 4 feet) since the board begins very close
to ground level. You are advised to use only fonts that are
legible from 4 - 5 feet.
Queen's Residence - Leggett Hall
If you have reserved accomodation in Queen's University residences,
you will be staying in Leggett Hall which is located at
position marked "58 New Residences"
on the above Queen's University campus
map. On the map this appears as an empty lot but
there is, in fact, a big residence building, entrance from Stuart Street.
The reception at Leggett Hall is open until midnight. If you happen
to arrive after midnight, you need to get your key from
conference services at Victoria Hall, this is the building
marked "75" on the above Queen's University campus
map. At Victoria Hall reception there is someone 24 hours.
Accomodation at Queen's residence includes breakfast which is
served in Leonard Hall cafeteria.
Parking: To park on Queen's campus you need a parking permit
between 8 AM and 5 PM on weekdays. Parking
is free on Saturday. Daily parking permits can be purchased
from the reception at Leggett Hall, the cost is $9.50 per day.
Hotel Locations
The locations of the hotels
- Holiday Inn (Kingston Water Front)
- Four Points Sheraton
- Radisson Hotel
are marked on the above Kingston downtown map. On the map is
marked also the location of Walter Light Hall where the
conference presentations take place.
Parking on campus: If you are staying in downtown hotels, it
is probably easiest to walk to Queen's campus,
even if you
have a car (15 - 20 minutes walk).
To park on Queen's campus one needs a parking permit
between 8 AM and 5 PM on weekdays, additionally there are
short term parking meters.
However, even with a permit
it is usually not easy to find parking very close to
the conference location (Walter Light Hall). Just in case,
we have a limited number of daily parking permits for sale
at the conference registration on Thursday morning
(the cost is $9.50 per day).
On Saturday parking is free on Queen's campus and it is easy
to find free parking spaces.
Bus from Toronto airport
The bus from Toronto airport stops first at Kingston bus terminal
and then continues to Queen's University campus. On Queen's campus
the bus stops in front of John Deutsch University Centre which
is the building marked "14" on the above Queen's University campus
map.
Lunches
The lunches are in Leonard Hall cafeteria. Leonard Hall is the
building marked "62" on the above Queen's University campus
map, near the western edge of the campus. For the lunches you
need the swipe card that is provided with your registration
package. The same swipe card is used for all three days.
