The CISC-203 MIDTERM TEST is during the class on Monday October 21 at 4:30 PM in Chernoff Hall Auditorium (our regular class room). This is a CLOSED BOOK EXAM. You may bring with you ONE standard size (8.5 times 11 inch) page of notes and use it during the exam. The exam covers all material covered in class up to (and including) October 7: http://research.cs.queensu.ca/home/cisc203/index.html#SU On the posted lecture notes this includes the topics: - Sets, functions and relations, - Combinatorics: counting and permutations, and, - Discrete probability (4 sets of notes) The corresponding sections covered in the textbook are listed at: http://research.cs.queensu.ca/home/cisc203/index.html#SU PLEASE NOTE: You are asked to write the midterm answers using a non-erasable pen. Answers written in pencil or erasable ink will be marked, but they will not be considered for remarking after the midterms are returned. A practice midterm exam has been posted on the course web page. We will go over solutions to the practice midterm in class on Tuesday Oct. 15. Also most of the class on Friday Oct. 18 will be used for review for the midterm.
