• Andrew S. Tanenbaum, Structured Computer Organization, Fourth Edition, 1999. A very well-written book that provides background information on real machines that Warford lacks.

PEP/6 Software

• Pep/6 Simulator Software (should be installed in the labs)
• Pep/7 Simulator Software (if you find the Pep/6 crashes your machine, try the updated versions. There are hardly any differences with PEP/6)
• Alternative PEP Mac Software (didn't try this, but is supposedly good)
• Publicly available (though not exactly free) digital logic design software:
• for PCs (I haven't tried this; I don't know how well it works)
• for Macs (I have tried this; it's easy to use, but I wish it had triple-input gates)
• How to use Pep/6 on UNIX
• How to debug Pep/6
