Assignment 2 Marking Scheme

This assignment is intended to give students an understanding of the issues
involved in processing joins and handling files and buffer areas.
Marks will be allocated as follows:
Program Design (worth 35%)
- Program includes a correct
specification of block nested loops join.
- Program provides classes to
manage buffer area.
- Program provides classes to
perform block I/O.
Program (worth 35%)
- Code is correct
implementation of algorithm.
- Code handles data
efficiently.
- Code is structured,
documented and readable.
- File handling is correct.
Testing (worth 15%)
- Appropriate test files for
all cases are available.
- Program used to generate the
test data.
- The two important cases are
demonstrated.
External Documentation (worth 15%)
- The report is complete and
easy to read.
- All the required listings
are provided.
- All testing described.
- Instructions on how to run
program are provided.
Note that at least 20% will be deducted if, for any reason, the TA cannot
run a program!
