My Quilt Entry for the Software Carpentry Contest
I have worked intermittently on some ideas for "software manufacture" since
about 1989, albeit slowly because other things had higher priority.
In early 2000, the Software
Carpentry contest asked for submissions proposing the design of an
SC-Build tool for replacing make and its ilk.
I was on a return-to-work program at the time, only able to concentrate for a
few hours per day, so had very little time (about 8 working hours total) to
put together a hasty entry based on my previous
quilt papers.
Nevertheless, the entry won an
honourable mention,
and several very positive comments from the judges.
